JAKUB GUCIK & TILEN KRAVOS
Jakub Gucik and Tilen Kravos perform improvised music based on mindfulness, sensing intentions and listening to space according to the strategy of following the present moment. In their music, they do not avoid references to various genres of popular, classical and experimental music. Their sound is based on the processing and preparation of the guitar and extended cello techniques. Their debut album “Infuzja” was released in October 2023 by the “Antenna non Grata” publishing house.
Jakub Gucik – chamber musician, improviser, organizer, sometimes composer. Cellist of the Contemporary Ensemble Music Cooperative, winner of the Ernst von Siemens Ensembleprize 2021, multiple winner of the Fama festival and 1st prize of the 1st J. Patkowski Composition Competition. He works in Poland and abroad, collaborating with classical, contemporary and improvising musicians and composers from Poland and abroad.
Tilen Kravos – Slovenian guitarist of the younger generation playing improvised music. After a period of cooperation with high school bands, he began studying music at the school “Kombo” of Zlatko Kaučič, where he became interested in jazz and improvised music. Currently, he is mainly active on the Slovenian music scene, playing with his improvised trio Niemoy, the jazz band Kombo C, the rock band Eating Sports, the samba group Jacare and the impro duo Kopfschmerzen. He is the author of theatre music for the plays “Beton7” and “Igra kanalskih pesnikov”. In the past he has collaborated with artists such as Nesessari Kakalulu, Oholo!, Kontejnrčki, Orchestra senza confini, Josip Broz Trio, performance Štrbunkov grad, and participated in various workshops with saxophonist Trevor Watts, Agusti Fernandez, Michael Moore, Evan Parker, Ben van Gelder, Lotte Anker, Gerry Hemingway, Han Bennink, Jonas Kocher and Rainer Baas.
