NEO CLASSIC – JOHN CAGE
During the 14th edition of the NeoArte Festival, the Neo Classic series will be dedicated to John Cage – one of the most influential figures in 20th-century music, an artist who forever changed its course. The monographic concert presents the many facets of Cage’s creativity: from the contemplation of nature in the lyrical In a Landscape, through his experiments with recordings and media in Imaginary Landscape No. 5, to the radical concepts of notation and performance explored in Variations II and Variations III.
The program reveals Cage as a composer who not only redefined the boundaries of music but also opened listeners to the experience of silence, chance, and the surrounding world of sounds. The concert will be preceded by a discussion introducing the themes of nature, environment, and the philosophy of art in Cage’s work, allowing the audience to immerse themselves more deeply in his unique aesthetic.
