Sound artists Fabrizio Di Salvo (*1981) and Roberto Maqueda (*1991) present a concert work that centers on Le Slie’s, an instrument designed by Di Salvo and developed through their shared practice. Drawing on the tradition of the Leslie loudspeaker from the 1940s, with its rotating speakers that produce Doppler shifts, Le Slie’s translates that principle into an acoustic percussion instrument. The reference becomes a point of departure for a language
focused on timbre, articulation, and spectral experiments.

Roberto Maqueda identifies himself as a heterodox artist operating in the spheres of experimental art, electronic
music, and club culture. He is based in Basel. As a percussionist, he has taken up the art of drumming to a new level by applying engineering and sound automation to rhythms and building systems that revolve around the
integration of separately performing acoustic and electronic music studios. In the club scene, his techno alias Mitospora merges club sounds with sonic experimentation, navigating the boundary between underground and noise. Mitospora transforms raw energy into a shared experience—where dance and deep listening converge.

He co-directs FOG Festival (Basel) and previously co- directed EXIT Festival (Montevideo). He also headed
reConvert, now the studio that produces his projects. He has been at such festivals as SONICA, Indigo, Manifeste, SPOR or MaerzMusik.

(*1981, sound artist) – Growing up in Basel, Switzerland. My practice engages musical-instrument making as a reflective method for exploring materiality. Creating sonic infra/structures shaped jointly by resonant materials, form, and the act of listening. In response to this moment of increasing uncertainty, I move away from paradigms of control toward practices rooted in improvisation. Recognizing sound as a fundamentally relational phenomenon, I approach listening not only as a mode of perception but as an ethical practice. In this sense, my works are a way of being with others, both human and nonhuman, and offers space for sonic practices that support more inclusive, responsive, and collectively imagined futures.
